Review: We had the best experience with Comfort Star, Habib (owner), Miguel and Marco (who did the replacement and reinstallation of air duct & plenums).Our house was built in the 1960s and we have always had AC issues since moving in.Regardless of the type of units installed, the AC was loud when it turned on and the house was simply not cool enough. We could never get the temp to be lower than 79 degree no matter how long the AC was kept running.Last year, we had the furnace, compressor, and coil replaced, but the problems remained. What’s worse, the drain line kept getting clogged, shutting down the AC altogether. For several nights I had to take a wet vacuum to suck up all the water in the pan so that we won’t be without AC. It was a nightmare.I called the AC guys who installed the units, they blamed the clogging on the type of insulation in my attic and said there’s nothing they can do about the situation. I didn’t believe them. I called 4 companies (including Comfort Star) to come over and see what’s wrong with our HVAC system. Of the 4 companies I called, one company flat out refused to do the job because it was “too complicated”, another company sent someone who was very new to the business and only took pictures. Comfort Star was the ONLY company that sent over someone who is really experienced with the HVAC system. Habib was the owner who came over to look at our system, he was in the attic for 10 minutes and immediately identified a number of problems. He then spent almost half an hour in the attic explaining and showing me what the problems were and what needed to be done.Due to many units improperly installed, the job was costly, and we had a lot of questions. Habib was always patient and quick in answering them, which was truly appreciated.On the day of duct replacement, Miguel and Marco came and worked from 7am to 9pm. They were on time and extremely courteous.What impressed me the most is that they really cared about making sure everything is done right. We had an issue after they finished the job and although it was Sunday afternoon, Habib came right away to resolve the issue.Now my AC is working quietly and cooling the house very effectively. If I have problems in the future, I will not hesitate to contact Habib because I trust he and his team will do a good job.
