Review: My experience with Aedile Plumbing was very positive. I had been putting off the tunneling required to remedy a regularly troublesome drain from bathroom and laundry room at one end of our home. My regular plumber, whom I trust and have needed to call roughly once per year to auger and clean that drain, recommended Aedile and assured me their work was very professional and fairly priced. Robert ran his camera from the clean out at the opposite end of the house from the troublesome area. He found and showed me two breaks in the 4″ PVC drain line. The breaks had allowed a section of the pipe to separate as much as 6″, allowing dirt and roots to enter. Repair of the breaks would require excavating as far as 12′ under the slab.Robert emailed me the estimate the next day, describing the excavation, repair and refilling process. It wasn’t out of line with what I expected. I had gotten another estimate years earlier, so I knew what to expect. We scheduled the excavation several weeks in advance, which then had to be delayed a week due to an expected rain. Robert coordinated the changes with me via text messaging. The excavation was professionally done, the dirt was piled neatly, and the driveway was kept clean. Robert did the repairs the following day. Photographs of the repair showed the installation of a new, approximately 6′ section of PVC pipe connecting the two break points and incorporating a junction for tub, toilet, vent and downstream drain lines shown in foreground as well as a curved transition bring in the laundry room/bathroom sink line in the background of the photo. The assembly was properly connected and hung with two hangers drilled into the bottom of the slab. It was extremely professional and strongly secured work – indicating that Robert took pride in his work and that he was so experienced that it was easy for him to make the pipe, joints, connections, hangers, and hanger anchors the work of a skilled craftsman. The work was then inspected and approved. Aedile handled the city permit application and the inspection coordination. The tunnel was then filled the next day by the same expert excavation sub-contractor – there was no excess of dirt or mound where the tunnel had been dug indicating the refill was well packed.
